Interested in Becoming a Peer Tutor

in the Writing Center?

The Writing Center is looking for undergraduates interested in joining the staff of the Center as peer tutors (or consultants, as we prefer to call them). New consultants will be trained during spring semester 2010 and can anticipate "going on duty" in the Center beginning fall semester 2010.

In October we will be asking faculty members to nominate qualified students, but you are encouraged to initiate this process if being a peer consultant appeals to you.

Individuals qualified to be peer consultants are responsible, dependable students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are proficient writers and who are able to develop comfortable working relationships with their peers. Click here for a more detailed description of this position.

Application forms can be obtained at the Center after Oct. 1. Drop by the Center next time you are in Albany 206 between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Susan Hubbuch would also be happy to discuss the work of the Writing Center with students serious about applying for one of the positions.
