William (Bill) Mallinson, former vice president for business and finance of Lewis & Clark College, died Dec. 27, 1999. He was 74. He served the College from 1966 to 1987. "Bill Mallinson lived a full life, one which included many accomplishments, much love and great happiness," said John Brown, former provost and dean of faculty of Lewis & Clark, at a memorial service in Frank Manor House, Jan. 3. "His greatness as vice president for business and finance arose not simply from his professional skills ... but from the fact that he believed so strongly in the mission of the College." "A myriad of lovely, humane and human 'bits and pieces' made up the mosaic of Bill's life," said John Callahan, Morgan S. Odell Professor of Humanities. "I have trouble conceding he is gone." |
