Cindy Harrington-Lee '80 and her husband, Jon, are the parents of April-Elizabeth, born April 8, 1998. She joins brother Will (2). Cindy works for United Airlines. In July, they moved from San Francisco to San Diego.

Deborah Nichols Hudson '80 and her husband, John, are the parents of Alexander, born March 19, 1997. They live in Redwood City, Calif.

Louise Rafkin '80 is author of Other People's Dirt (Algonquin Books), an account of her years cleaning houses while earning a bachelor's degree in English. She lives in North Truro, Mass.

Susan Trabucco '80 is the new executive director of the Ilwaco Community Development Association in Washington.

Deborah Vick '80 and her husband, Neal Devins, are the parents of Adam Vick Devins, born June 14, 1998. They live in Williamsburg, Va.

Mark Bosse '81 is a patent attorney for Gilead Sciences. He lives in El Grenada, Calif., with his wife, Nancy, and daughters Stephanie (13) and Michelle (11).

Lauren Gevurtz '81 received her master's degree in public administration in 1997 from Lewis & Clark College, specializing in non-profit management.

Dennis Earnshaw '82 and Susan Kallfelz Earnshaw '82 are parents of Peter John, born Oct. 23, 1998. He joins sister Emily Jane (2). They live in Tualatin.

Ann-Marie Lundberg '82 was recently hired by the Port of Portland to serve as a marketing development manager for its marine department.

P. Nozomi Ueno Bray '83 and her husband, Michael, are parents of Amanda, born April 12, 1998, and Nicole (4). They live in Winchester, Mass.

Karla Crawford '83 and Ray Kanarr were married July 11, 1998. They live in San Francisco.

Barbara Head '83 recently received a master's degree in information resources and library science from the University of Arizona. The university's distance learning program allowed Barbara to put together an independent program of study and remain in Portland with only a brief residency in Arizona. She lives in Portland with her husband, Rhys, and their son Owen (2).

Catherine Johnson-Ference '83 and her husband, Stephen, are parents of Colin Richard Ference, born July 6, 1998.

Patricia Macklin '83 and Russell Sandstrom were married in Juneau, Alaska, in August 1998. She works as an information technology specialist and is pursuing a networking certificate at the University of Alaska Southeast.

Janelle Hoglan Stanton '83 and David Stanton J.D. '85 are parents of Abraham (5) and Daniel (6 months). They live in Washougal, Wash.,

Rebecca Brown '84 and Philip Thompson were married Feb. 14 in California. Both Rebecca and Philip are foreign service officers currently posted in Washington, D.C. They live in Falls Church, Va.

Barbara Crocker '84 and James Young were married June 27, 1998. James is a police officer. They live in Salem.

James Marsh '84 and Laurie Schroeder Marsh '85 are parents of Emile Kathleen, born July 19, 1998. She joins daughter Miriam (4). They live in Sherwood.

Jerald Spires Jr. '84 resides in Sante Fe, N.M., and recently graduated from St. Johns College with a master's degree in liberal arts. He earned a master's degree in counseling psychology from George Fox University in 1997.

Greg Hamilton '85 has been appointed assistant professor of English education in the department of arts and humanities at Teachers College, Columbia University. Greg taught middle school for 11 years and recently completed his doctorate. His research interests include middle school readers and adolescent literature. His partner, Michael Flores, a computer design artist for the New York Stock Exchange.

Renee Rogers Kotz '85 and her husband, Brad, are the parents of Annelise Lucille, born Oct. 7, 1998. they live in Cabin John, Md.

Richard Melling '85 and Karen McCracken '86 live in Portland with their twin daughters, Kristen and Sarah (6 months) and their son, Woody (3). Karen is a registered nurse at Oregon Health Sciences University and Richard is a mortgage counselor for the Portland Housing Center.

Charles Patton '85 works for the U.S. Forest Service as an analyst for the Remote Sensing Applications Sensor. He lives and works in Salt Lake City with his wife, Linda.

Steven Rebischke '85 is a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Costa Mesa, Calif. He was formerly the principal consultant.

Michael Sellers '85 has started his own company called Big Network. Big makes software tools for online commerce community entertainment. He lives in Pleasanton, Calif.

Roy Smith '85 and Kimberly Riley '86 are parents of Marie Lazo, born July 31, 1998. She joins daughter, Elana Katherine (3). Kim began working for AMC Cancer Research Center in Denver as a research program manager in 1998. Her current research projects focus on community resources for supporting chronically ill patients and on developing cancer-specific health risk assessments. Roy was just selected for the U.S. Department of Interior Leadership Program. He serves as the lead for instream flow and water rights issues for the Bureau of Land Management in Colorado and is currently coordinating research on the Arkansas River, San Miguel River, and on potential wilderness areas.

Keith Brown '86 is a sales representative for Striker Instruments in Boise, Idaho. He is married to Mary Jo Brown; they have two children, Mary Rose (4) and Steffan (3).

Amy K. Smith '86 and Sharon L. Marcus were married May 2, 1998. Their married name is Beltaine. The wedding was held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ithaca, N.Y.

Karen Thomas '86 has been a social worker at the Center for the Vulnerable Child, Children's Hospital in Oakland, Calif., for five years. She also works at the Center for Social Services Research at the University of California (Berkeley), where she coordinates the evaluation of a California child welfare demonstration project.

Sheila Theresa Thompson '86 and Steven Charles Travis were married Sept. 7, 1997, at the Alta Peruvian Lodge in Alta, Utah. They live in Salt Lake City.

Michelle Weisman Wood '86 resides in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., with her husband, Brian Wood, and their two children, Trevor (4) and Emily (7). Michelle is manager of Fine Arts Imports.

Martha Corcoran '87 has an acupuncture and Chinese medicine practice in Portland. She also provides cooking consultation and instruction.

Sarah Englert '87 and her husband, Doug, are parents of Josephine, born Nov. 19, 1998. They live in Boise, Idaho.

William Fellows '87 and his wife, Kathleen, are parents of Nathan Mathew, born Feb. 27, 1998. They live in Troutdale.

Pietro Ferrari '87 administers a statewide community development collaborative for the Neighborhood Partnership Fund, an affiliate of the Oregon Community Foundation. The project aims to build organizational capacity of community development organizations throughout the state. Pietro has been working in affordable housing projects in Oregon for the past eight years. He lives in Portland and is a native of Bolivia.

Gary Goldsmith '87 and his wife, Lisa, recently moved from Tukwila to Renton, Wash. Gary would like his classmates to know his new address: 15414 S.E. 176th St., Renton, WA 98058.

Deanna Scroggin Nihill '87 and her husband, Jerry, are parents of Samuel Thomas, born June 16, 1998. She teaches forestry classes for Oregon State University and also teaches childbirth classes in the evenings. Deanna lives in Tigard.

Oscar Pagani '87 and his wife, Gigi, are parents of Alessandra Soplia, born May 23, 1998. They live in San Anselmo, Calif.

Laurie Gerson Powazek '87 and her husband, Alan, are the parents of Joshua, born Oct. 4, 1996, and Sarah, born July 19, 1998. They live in Bellevue, Wash.

Beth Anne Bremner Simon '87 and her husband, Robert, are parents of Rugby, born June 4, 1997. They live in Colorado Springs.

Helen Spencer-Snyder '87 and her husband, Steven, live in Medford, Mass. with their two children, Hannah (3) and Lev (1). Helen has a private psychotherapy practice.

David Thompson '87 and Lori Farrell '88 are parents of Quinlend Rose Farrell Thompson, born Oct. 16, 1998.

Kevin W. Winston '87 is the new PGA head golf professional at Colwood National Golf Club in Portland. He had a similar position at Forest Hills Country Club in his hometown of Reedsport for the past five years.

Tracy Egan '88 and her husband, David, are parents of Sam, born Nov. 17, 1996. They live in Olympia, Wash.

Becky Green '88 lives in Aspen, Colo., where she has managed an international stock and assignment photography agency for the past 10 years. She ran the 1998 New York City Marathon to raise money for cancer research and encourages fellow "Pios" to lace up their shoes for next year's race and help find a cure.

Peter Kerr '88 and Lori Lehman Kerr '90 are parents of Emily Janelle, born Oct. 16, 1998. She joins older brother Ryan Peter (3). They live in Mukilteo, Wash.

Jeffrey Malmon '88 and Carolyn Brown Malmon '90 are parents of Tyler Quinn, born June 19, 1997. They live in Brier, Wash.

Dawn Martin '88, M.P.A. '96 adopted a daughter, Sophia, from Guatemala on Nov. 14, 1998. They live in Portland.

Eric Tucker '88 and his wife, Julie, are parents of Jacob, born June 19, 1997. The live in Spokane, Wash.

Robert W. Vaux '88 and Kristen Murphy are parents of Sally Murphy Vaux, born Dec. 10, 1998. They live in Anacortes, Wash,.

Kathleen Welland '88 and Cary Mallon were married in August, 1996. Kathleen received her bachelor's degree in curriculum and instruction from Portland State University in June 1998. She teaches kindergarten and first grade in Parkdale, where she lives with her husband and stepson Chris.

Franck Bure '89 recently moved to San Francisco to purchase a home after working at Microsoft for eight years as a senior testing engineer. He spent the past year and a half renovating his flat and plans to seek employment in Silicon Valley.

Alicia Ory DeNicola '89 completed all course requirements for a dual master's degree in anthropology and women's studies at Brandeis University. She has accepted a National Resource Fellowship in South Asian studies as a doctoral candidate in anthropology at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Alicia plans to spend the summer of 1999 in India.

Beth Elliot '89, M.A.T. '96 and Charlie Devereux were married July 18, 1998, at the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland. They now reside in Northampton, Maine, where Beth is a school-to-work coordinator with the Northampton Public Schools and is assisting Charlie in opening Paradise Brewing Company.

Sacha Hewitt '89 is a coordinator for the corporate sponsorship (strategic alliance) department at Vail Resorts. She lives in Vail, Colo.

Becky Tucker Moore '89 recently moved to New York after 4 years working in Romania with Holt International Children's Services. She and Jeffrey Moore were married in 1995. They have two children, Gina (11) from Romania and Josiah (2).

Dana Ruden '89 moved to Colorado from Portland and is now a psychologist for the Aurora public school system.

Marcia Stanard '89 and her partner, Jill Sanders Stanard, N.D., are the parents of a daughter, Michaela Joyce Stanard, born June 14, 1998. They live in Providence, R.I., where Marcia manages Jill's naturopathic medical practice and is a licensed massage therapist.
