EarthLink to provide Internet services

Lewis & Clark College has contracted with EarthLink Network Inc. to provide dial-up Internet services to alumni, students, parents and employees affiliated with the College. Service is available for both Macintosh and Windows-based computers.

In most areas of the continental United States, EarthLink provides Internet access via a local telephone call. Those who travel across the country gain Internet access at no additional charge via a local access number. The Lewis & Clark package:

• Waives the normal set-up fee (a $25 savings),

• Costs only $17.95 per month for unlimited access (10 percent off the regular price), and

• Allows you to forward e-mail to another account (a savings of $2 per month).

To sign up, call 1-800-EarthLink. From the voice mail system, select the option to obtain a new Internet account. Tell the customer service representative that you would like a new account, that you are affiliated with Lewis & Clark College and that your registration number is 400042554. That account number will give you the rates listed above. After registering, a CD-ROM with all of the necessary information will be sent to you.

You may also pick up the CD-ROM from the Lewis & Clark College Computer Showroom and use it to register for a new account. For information, call the Computer Showroom, (503) 768-7250.

To forward your e-mail, call Marty Howie at (800) EARTHLINK, Ext. 65056. Tell him you are affiliated with Lewis & Clark College.

For more information, call the College's information technology department, (503) 768-7020.
