Christine Leath '94 graduated in 1997 from the Monterey Institute of International Studies with a master's degree in translation and joined a translation agency, Omega International, as project manager and account supervisor. She was recently promoted to manager of project services. She lives in Monterey, Calif. Elaine L.Y. Lee '94 and Jon Pietsch were married Aug. 8, 1998, at the Washington Park Rose Garden. They live in Vancouver, Wash. Douglas Mulford '94 received his Ph.D. in chemistry and will join the faculty at Pepperdine University as an assistant professor of chemistry. Stacey Lynn Nichols '94 received her master's degree in translation and interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies on May 16. During an internship, she was a translator for the World Cup 1998 in France. Marla Reddekopp '94 and Dionys Murphy were married in 1995. They are parents of Dalen Alusdar, born Feb. 9. They live in Portland. Robert Blunt '95 is finishing a master's degree in biblical languages at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, Calif., and is applying to doctoral programs in anthropology and African history. Robert lives with Danielle Walters '95, who is finishing her master's degree in public health at the University of California at Berkeley. They live in Berkeley. Daniel Drazan '95 joined the Watkinson, Laird, Rubenstein, Lashway & Baldwin Firm in Eugene as an associate attorney in September 1998. He works in business, real estate and employment law. He graduated in 1998 magna cum laude from Willamette University College of Law in Salem and was on its Law Review editorial board for two years. Megan Fitzgerald '95 is in her second year of the nursing program at Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y. Cable Green '95 and Lesley Parker '96 both attend Ohio State University and live in Columbus, Ohio, with their new Doberman puppy. Lesley is a veterinary student working on a master's degree in theriogenology and a doctorate in veterinary medicine. Cable is the director of instructional technology for the Council of Ohio Colleges of Pharmacy and a graduate teaching/research assistant in the School of Journalism and Communication. He is finishing his Ph.D. in communication. Sean Hargens '95 served in the Peace Corps for two years and temporarily returned to Lewis & Clark as assistant office manager of College Outdoors. Sean works at the Northwest Youth Corps in Portland and plans to pursue a doctorate this fall. Elizabeth Link '95 ran the Boston Marathon on April 19. She also completed the Honolulu Marathon last fall, finishing in 3 hours, 51 minutes and 45 seconds. Elizabeth lives in San Francisco. Jason Oei '95 recently accepted an instructional position with Hong Kong Outward Bound. Amy Timmins '95 completed her master's degree in English literature at the University of Colorado at Boulder in August 1998. She works as an administrative coordinator at The Riley Center, a domestic violence agency and shelter in San Francisco. Amy lives in El Cerrito, Calif. Justin Adams '96 ran the Boston Marathon on April 19, completing his sixth marathon in 3 hours, 18 minutes and 53 seconds. Justin lives in Davis, Calif. Ever Carradine '96 recently was featured in two television series, "Veronica's Closet" and "Party of Five." Safi Omar '96 has been working for Kuehne and Nagel, an Austrian company in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for the past two years. Craig M. Scott '96 is in his third year at the Seattle University Law School. He is married to Keely Merrigan '96, who is finishing her master's degree in library science at the University of Washington. Maiya Shaw '96 finished her master's degree in international affairs at Columbia University in May 1998 and is now a conservation organizer for the Sierra Club. She lives in New York City with her cat, Kuda. Kimberly Bissell '97 is pursuing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Preston Crawford '97 and Bonnie Tompkins '98 were married on Aug. 1, 1998. Preston was recently promoted to information technology coordinator for Computer Resource Group in Boise, Idaho. Darren M. Drabek '97 is the assistant director of admissions at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Laura Edwards '97 and Todd Leeper were married on June 7, 1997. Laura is attending Bowling Green State University, where she is pursuing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology. They live in Bowling Green, Ohio. Amie Hunter '97 is attending law school in Virginia and is a staff member at the Law Review. Jenny Simpson Johnson '97 and Koeby Johnson '97 are parents of Karan Cassidy, born Jan. 9. They live in Ashland. Jason Mokrovich '97 is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. His specialization is poststructuralist theories of sexuality with an emphasis on two main theorists, Judith Butler and Michel Foucault. Katherine Scott '97 has been accepted into the graduate school at Johns Hopkins University to complete work toward a doctorate in environmental and occupational health. Nathan Steele '97 was hired in April by the information technology department of Axiom Electronics Inc. in Beaverton to provide technical support for company network computers. Axiom Electronics manufactures circuit boards for aerospace, military and specialty applications, including the recent Mars Pathfinder spacecraft. Rachel Webster '97 is the Gallery 37 public relations assistant at the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. She lives in Chicago. Daniel Williams '97 and Claudia Barrios Aguilar were married April 4. Daniel is a research associate for the California Institute for Rural Studies in Davis, Calif. Daniel Chang '98 recently moved to Whitehall, Penn. Tanya King '98 accepted a position with Americorps VISTA as a coordinator of the Start Making a Reader Today (SMART) program in two elementary schools. She is also a volunteer with the ESL/ABE tutoring program at a community college and has trained as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) for children with Clatsop (County) CASA. She lives in Astoria but plans to move to Washington, D.C. Candace Larson '98 was a winner in the fiction category of the Associated Writing Programs' 1998 Intro Journals Project, a national literary competition. She lives in Portland. Suzanne Liberman '98 is studying at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies in Yokohama, Japan. Suzanne received a Monbusho Scholarship to study at Waseda University in Tokyo for 18 months in the graduate school of psychology as a research assistant. Ken Parks '98 lives in Chile and works for the News Review, a weekly publication providing the English language community with a summary of the week's news. He also writes free-lance articles for the Latin American & International Mining Journal. Jessica Youngman '98 works for the Americorps program at the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve, a 600-acre ecologically rich marshlands south of Hillsboro. |
