I hope I wasn’t the only leftist nearly choking on my own vomit after reading the recent Piolog articles arguing whether we should support Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. Hopefully, a closer examination of these two candidates and the organization they work under will lead people to ask a much more important question: should the left support the Democratic Party at all?

Weekends leave students all stuffed up with nowhere to go
The health center’s 8:00a.m.- 4:00p.m., weekday-only hours leave students suffering through Saturday and Sunday
The health clinic on campus is open from 8:00a.m. until 4:00p.m. Monday through Friday. A health clinic should not be open simply during traditional “business hours.” It is as though the administration has forgotten about the approximately 1000 students that live on campus. This is odd, for it seems that students are most vulnerable to injury or illness and more likely to seek health consultation during the weekend. It is ridiculous that students are forced to wait until Monday morning to get help for sickness or limbs broken on Friday night.

With the U.S. death toll in Iraq at well over 3,000 troops and no end in sight, the Iraq situation is messy. There is always Afghanistan to worry about too, considering that the main target there has been unusually elusive. These two engagements give signs for a long, strenuous camp-out. To make matters worse, U.S. officials have confirmed that bomb-making materials found in the possession of Shiite insurgents in Iraq came from Iran.

Everyone knows college students love alcohol – but when parties become more about drinking than having fun, enough is enough
I’m getting tired of drinking. I’m just going to come out and say it straight up. I’m tired of having my cherished Sunday-morning runs defeated by nausea and the little lumberjacks with pick axes that strike away at my skull, above my ears and a little to the front. I’m tired of sleeping so late that I end up working until the small hours of Monday morning just to get the minimum amount of work done. But most of all, I’m tired of not remembering all the fun I had the night before.
