To tune in or to tune out?

The Sound and the Fury with Drew
Mondays, 4:00-6:00pm

Monday afternoons on KLC are far from listless while Drew Kelly (’09) packs the digital-airwaves with a cacophonous fusion of hip-hop, classic rock and indistinguishable synthesized tunes. Some songs are played straight, with little to no mixing, but more often they are played two or three at a time. The resulting layered sound sometimes makes good on the title of the show in gloriously furious fashion, but other times is uncomfortably dischordant.

Songs move in and out of the auditory field with little commentary from Kelly and when he does interject, his own words are sometimes lost under the sound of the music that is still playing.

“The Sound and the Fury” features and eclectic mix of music if there ever was one and even familiar songs are revitalized when they become part of Kelly’s experimental jams. The fact that this was only the second time that Kelly graced the KLC airwaves leaves room for hopes of improvement. Check it out for an entertainingly distinctive auditory experience.
