After more than 30 years of successful work with students from all over the U.S., the Year of Study in Munich would like to offer students and professors of German Studies a new perspective and new ways of getting involved with one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of a college education: A year of study abroad.
The MUNICH PARTNER PROGRAM has been designed to establish new partnerships between the U.S. and Munich. We encourage departments and students alike to take advantage of a variety of opportunities:

Munich Scholarships The Munich Scholarship Fund is available to students from colleges that have not yet been involved with a Munich-based study abroad program, but would like to offer their students the opportunity to become part of the Year of Study in Munich experience. These scholarships range between $4,000-$6,000 per student. They are awarded to the students who are accepted to the program under the conditions described above.
Munich Partnerships We lay special emphasis on a continuous dialogue with our American partners. Getting to know each other and discussing specific needs and goals is a highly important aspect of our program. We work with every college/university on an individual basis. Therefore, we would like to invite our colleagues from participating institutions to visit us in 2007. We plan to repeat this invitation every second year and would be happy to welcome you to Munich. We will cover the costs of flight and accommodation for one representative of every participating college/university.
Munich in the U.S.
It is not only important for us to invite our program partners to Munich. We also visit colleges and universities in the U.S. in order to present our program, become familiar with the schools our students attend and to discuss and actively support the needs of the departments. For us, "active support" means assisting German departments in building up a solid student body, initiating cooperations between the college/university and the University of Munich, developing internet projects, selecting German language assistants, as well as much more.
