Starting Out
To begin using the LCCC you must click on the
Login
tab. After your login and password are verified, one of two things will happen. If you have already used the LCCC, you will go straight to the main menu of options. But if you are a new user, you will be prompted to agree to some "Terms of Use." These are displayed to every user to establish a few basic rules. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not proceed. However, by clicking the "I Agree" button, you will proceed to your main menu of options.
Main Menu
From the main menu, you have three options:
Update Schedule
- This is where you enter in your own individual data and attempt to match it against other users, which is the main functionality of the LCCC system.
Delete Account
- This is where you go when you no longer want to participate in the LCCC. It will completely remove you from the system, and you will no longer receive carpool emails.
Transportation Forum
- This is a "guestbook" style page that allows any user of the LCCC to make any transportation related comments.
Update Schedule
This is the area where you can update your individual commuter schedule by filling out the following sections.
Arrive at LC
- Input a window of time in which you would be willing to arrive at school. The only stipulation for this field is that you must enter the earlier time on the left. For example, 10:00 am - 8:00 am is unacceptable. Examples of acceptable entries are as follows:

Depart from LC
- Input a window of time in which you would be willing to depart from school. Data entry follows the same guidelines as for arrival times.
Transportation Mode
- Select any or all of the available options for the mode in which you wish to get to school. For example, a driver and a rider would create a match, but a rider and a rider would not.
Travel Distance
- Input a decimal value for the number of miles you would be willing to travel in order to meet possible matches. If you do not enter a radius, a default value of zero is stored on the system. This means that you are not willing to travel from your home in order to be picked up, provide a ride, etc. For example, assuming all other factors match, User A enters in a travel distance of .5 miles and User B enters in a travel distance of 1 mile, and the two users live less than 1.5 miles apart, they will match.
Comments
- Type any extra information that you would like to be included in the emails that are sent to possible matches. For example, "I would be willing to help pay for gas."
Home Location
- The final step is to pick out the location of your home on the map provided. When you click on the map, the form will be automatically be submitted and you will proceed to the next page. So, be careful to pick precisely where you live before you click!
