Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Majed S. Abulola. I am from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I am 20 years old. I have three brothers and one sister. My father is a pilot for Saudi Airlines, and he has been working there for 35 years. My two oldest brothers are pilots too for the same airlines. My younger brother is now in elementary school in Saudi Arabia, and my little sister is now a baby so she is not in school. The reason for coming here to the United States is to enter the university and achieve my career, which is being in electrical engineering, so you can infer that getting the English language will make my mission much easier because it is the main crossroad. I came here to Portland, OR to attend Lewis & Clark College because it has a very good English language institute that can help the international students get ready to enter college. The people here in Lewis & Clark College are very friendly with aliens such as me. Moreover in this small community, they love to teach you their language by correcting your mistakes, which is good for you. Actually, I am going to enter the engineering department in the University of Portland because this department at this university is so strong. Also, this major is very popular in Saudi Arabia, and the chance to get a job there is the same chance as hunting one bird from a huge flock of them. Basically, being here in the United States is a good opportunity for me that my dad has given to me. Through hard work and dedication I can accomplish my career goals very easily. |

Everybody in the world has a different writing style. For example, some people are really good in writing with perfect grammar and making complex sentences. Others are really good at writing stories by explaining their feeling in their passages. Some people's writing is messy, and they aren't that good in writing at all, but they are excellent in other things. I represent the third group in writing, and if we want to represent it by one kind of animal, the closest one will be a pig. I guess most people know that pigs live in dirty places, have a reputation as being stinkers, and being so messy. My writing is like them because my grammar isn't that good, which makes writing complicated sentences quite impossible for me. As a result, I am not going to write a lot about my feelings because it is going to be a big mess, which also can make my passage unclear and ridiculous. Also, sometimes my writing can be miserable because I get stuck in completing my sentences. Sometimes, I do write smart sentences or very good sentences, and, as we all know, that pigs are cleaver animals even if they are messy too. Last but not least, having some problems in writing is not a big deal, but you should do your best to improve your writing and to solve those kinds of problems. Your writing won't improve without having enough confidence in yourself to prove to yourself and to others that you aren't the kind of person that gives up that easily. No body in the world has good writing without hard work, so give it a try and you won't be disappointed. |
