Palau is known for its spectacular diving among the Rock Islands
We were able to travel among the Rock Islands in style on the Merand
I, a well equipped boat from the Palau International Coral
Reef Center (PICRC)
Kate and Monica enjoy the scenery
Over 1,300 species of fish swim among Palau's reefs... and everyone worked hard to learn their names
Boat trips were often several hours, and everyone was tired by the time we headed home
We also spent several days on Babledaob, the largest island in Micronesia.
This is the view north from Ulimang, the village where we stayed.
Andrew showed us this stone tomb....
A spectacular view of the stone monolith site with reefs in the background
These large stones, carved from quarries many miles away, are presumed to be the supports for an enormous house.

Ancient terraces are found throughout the island.
On the drive back to Koror, Vince provided many insights into Babeldaob's history.
He also led us to a spectacular waterfall..
LC students at their finest....
