Bio221 schedule

Lab exercises for marine biology are built around four field trips; one Friday afternoon trip to Bonneville Dam and three weekend trips to different coastal areas. Attendance for all scheduled lab meetings and field trips is mandatory.

2	Sep. 9 - 11	Lab 1: Field Trip to tideflat and estuary habitats: Willapa Bay, Washington
3	Sep. 16	Lab 1 (cont.): Identifying specimens and quantifying patterns of dispersion within tideflat and estuary habitats
4	Sep. 23	Lab 2: Day-trip to the Bonneville Dam and salmon hatchery(Reflection due by 5 PM the following day... Saturday, 9/24)
5	Sept 30	No formal lab meeting: finish write up of Lab 1 (due on Wed, 10/5, by 1 PM)
6	Oct. 7	No Lab meeting (Week of Fall Break)
7	Oct. 14	Lab 3: The diversity of temperate rocky intertidal habitats.
8	Oct. 21-23	Field Trip to Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB) in Charleston.
9	Oct. 28	Lab 3 (continued): Analyzing patterns of distribution and abundance within the rocky intertidal.
10	Nov. 4	No formal lab meeting: finish write up of Lab 3
11	Nov. 11	No Lab meeting (Write up of Lab 3 due at 1 pm).
12	Nov. 18 - 19	Lab 4: A "hands on" view of basic marine biodiversity. Field trip to the Newport Aquarium (has been canceled)
13	Nov. 25	No Lab meeting (Week of Thanksgiving Holiday)
14	Dec. 2	Oral Presentations on marine diversity (criteria for evaluation)
15	Dec. 12	No lab meeting (last week of classes)
