Meeting Minutes
January 31, 2006
Present: Julio de
Paula, Dean of the College; Rob Kugler, Dean of Arts and
Humanities; Gary Reiness, Dean of Mathematical and Natural
Sciences; Harry Schleef, Dean of Social Sciences; Mervyn
Brockett, Assistant to the President; and Terri Banasek,
Executive Assistant and recorder.
Announcements
- Dean de Paula announced that David Campion received
an $8,000 Arnold L. and Lois S. Graves Award in the
Humanities.
- Dean de Paula will speak with Faculty Council about
circulating committee reports electronically prior to the
faculty meeting.
Agenda Items
- Dean de Paula noted that there is no consistent way
in which the College pays adjuncts. He would like to
fold this issue into the discussion of the salary review
policy. He asked the divisional deans to do a study of
how adjunct faculty members are compensated in their
respective divisions - dollar amount, what kind of effort
is expended to earn that amount, lab v. lecture - for
2005-06 and 2004-05.
