Do well by doing good.
Lewis & Clark's Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) continues to
thrive. Students who participate earn academic credit for
representing low-income taxpayers in disputes with the IRS -- including possible
court appearances before the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for
the Ninth Circuit. Tax clinic participants are supervised by Jan Pierce, a
former attorney supervisor for the Internal Revenue Service with 27 years'
experience and the law school's full-time tax clinician for many years.
