Position Descriptions:
Student Senate
The ASLC Student Senate is a brand new institution designed to better represent you and your fellow classmates' needs and interests here at Lewis & Clark. Each class year is represented by 3 elected senators whose jobs include discussing and writing legislation with fellow officials and working in tandem with the executive cabinet to promote the interests of the student body. Senators are also required to serve on one of the ASLC standing committees (ie. Finance, Student Organizations, Community Relations, Campus Activties).

Global Engagement Board
The purpose of the Global Engagement Board is to build an infrastructure for global engagement at Lewis & Clark. This board will help provide fair representation for the many Lewis & Clark students who prioritize global engagement in their co-curricular lives. We strive to foster a community around global service while at Lewis & Clark because we believe that individuals connected to networks of change-makers find it easier to translate their aspirations into tangible career paths that benefit humanity. It is important to note that this is the GEB's first year of existence and has ambitious goals. The GEB will meet once a week to plan events, discuss issues involving engagement, and review grants. We are looking for individuals that are dedicated to increasing community and interested in making a difference on and off campus. Apply today!

Community Relations Committee
The CRC acts as a diplomat between members of the Senate, the Lewis & Clark College community, and the outside community. It is a representative for the Senate and the student body. It serves as an outlet for student voice and an advocate for student needs and desires. The Committee is comprised of two sub-committees: The Sub-Committee on Student Voice is charged with actively seeking student opinion, the implementation of student ideas, handling inquiries and investigations into aspects of the college that may be operating below or beyond their parameters, and representing student voice in the Resident Assistant selection process. The Sub-Committee on Community Connections will work to build connections within and between the student, faculty, staff, college, and greater Portland communities by hosting events and activities. This will include LC community building, faculty and staff outreach, college networking, alumni outreach, and community outreach. It also acts as the Public Relations entity for ASLC and oversees the New York Times Readership program. We are looking for individuals that are dedicated to improving the LC community and interested in making a difference on and off campus. Apply today!

Constitutional Affairs Committee
The Constitutional Affairs committee will: review and amend the ASLC Constitution fairly and without bias; ensure all senate members follow Senate policies and procedures; facilitate all ASLC elections, initiatives, referenda, amendments, and ensure the fairness and integrity of each; and meet when needed.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is responsible for distributing over $30,000 for events throughout the year. Students or student run organizations requiring funds for specific purposes may apply for a Finance Committee grant at any time during the school year. The Finance Committee will convene once a week to hear grant requests and decide which projects will receive funding.

Peer Review Authority
The Peer Review Authority is composed of 3 individual boards. It is the conduct review body and adjudicates student conduct cases. The PRA can also resolve disputes within the student community that fall outside the Student Code of Conduct.

Campus Activities Board
CAB is the activities programming board of ASLC. CAB plans dances, concerts, speakers, and more--all by students, for students. If interested, please email CAB chair Emily Peters at caboard@lclark.edu.
