Community Relations Committee |
|
|---|---|---|
The Community Relations Committee was established by the ASLC Executive Board to serve as a diplomat between students and the organizations and administration of Lewis & Clark College. It is CRC's goal to increase the communication and strengthen relationship between students and the organizations that have been established to serve them. To achieve this CRC will educate and clearly communicate to students what organization they should contact to address their needs or concerns, be it involving student employment, contracted employment, campus safety, housing and residential life, academics or additional areas. CRC also has the ability to investigate organizations if they are found to be operating beneath or beyond its parameters in dealing with students. Additionally, CRC has the power to create an Advisory Panel composed of students, faculty and administrators to propose disciplinary action or reform. |

The Community Relations Committee works in three steps: 1. Education: Check out our web page to educate yourself of the resources available to you. Check out our links in common areas of interest and find the administration and organizations that work in the different areas. If you can't find the area, person or group appropriate to your need proceed to Step Two. 2. Communication: Click on the Contact Us link to use our email forum to get in touch with the Committee Chair. Send your question, concern or complaint and they will respond as quickly as possible to connect you with someone who can help you. If the committee finds that you have a legitimate complaint in how you have been dealt with by an organization CRC will proceed to Step Three. 3. Investigation- The Community Relations Committee Chair & Members will provide students with the most direct route to solve their problems, such as referral to higher level administrator. However, the Community Relations Committee will proceed to investigate the organization and it's actions. The Community Relations Committee will publish a report of it's findings and then, if deemed necessary, form an Advisory Panel of student, staff and administration to suggest a reform of policy or disciplinary action. |
