Meet the Students

Lewis & Clark has been fortunate to have had great students from a variety of countries. Please take a moment to meet a few of our former students and read what they have to say about Lewis & Clark and Portland, Oregon.

Field Trip to Old Growth Forest:

a short drive from the Lewis and Clark campus.

We can go on field trips with our classmates. In our case, we went to breakfast and then to the forest together. It was a wonderful chance to talk with other students and was a good experience.

Hello everybody. My name is Han-Jin. I came from Seoul, Korea to study English and know American culture. I had been majoring in Business Administration in my country, and I want to study for an MBA in the U.S. I hope to get a job in the marketing field after I finish my studies. My hobby is playing basketball and watching basketball games too. I think that Lewis & Clark has the best teachers and program in order to help students improve their English. If you join us, you can enjoy the fresh air and fantastic scenery at Lewis & Clark.

My name is Hani and I am from Saudi Arabia. I came to the U.S. to study English to be able to do my Masters in Public Administration. Lewis & Clark is very good because they have a very strong English program and the teachers are very friendly and kind. I have many international friends because there are Japanese, Korean, Thai and U.A.E. students. Portland is a very beautiful city. There are many forests and rivers. The people are very friendly. I think Lewis and Clark is the best choice for the person who wants to study English.

My name is Dolkar and I'm from Tibet. Lewis & Clark is a private, four-year institution enrolling about 1,750 students from the United States and other nations. The college has good services for international students, such as friendship families, conversation groups, international student club, annual international fair, movies, concerts, dance and sports teams. Lewis and Clark offers a great English program which has courses focusing on improvement of language skills and other subjects, for example, computers, and library skills. I recommend this college to you!

The English program is so helpful in shaping the international student who wants to be an undergraduate. They take you beyond learning English grammar and writing, giving students the ability to reason and think in English. The program encourages students to live like typical American students, but with guidance. They also teach students skills such as how to use the computer in order to understand the language of today's world.

My name is Vica and I am from Russia. I enjoyed studying in the English program of Lewis and Clark a lot. I liked my classes because they were very informal and you didn't even notice how you learned. Also, I liked that all classes were different and improved different skills, so we had a chance to improve our language in different ways. Yet, teachers always helped us if we had problems.

My name is Kyoko and I am from Japan where I graduated from university. Because Lewis & Clark is a small private college with many international students, we can make many friends soon and easily. I believe you can study not only English but also many countries' culture. I love this college and am looking forward to seeing you here!

Hello everybody! My name is Ayako. Lewis & Clark is located on a hill and we can enjoy seeing a beautiful view from the windows of the dormitories. The English classes are good for us to improve our language skill and teachers give some advice and help us when we have some worries or troubles about study or other things. Thinking about these things, I realize that Lewis & Clark College suits me to learn English and make friends. I think it'll also suit you, if you want to learn English in the U.S.A. That's all. See you!
