James L. Huffman, Erskine Wood Sr. Professor of Law, is the immediate past Dean of Lewis & Clark Law School. Mr. Huffman received his B.S. from Montana State University, his M.A. from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and his J.D. from University of Chicago Law School. He is a member of the Montana Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a member of the International Council on Environmental Law and Explorers Club, a trustee of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, and a member of the Board of Directors for Bishop Street Funds. He is a frequent author on various topics including constitutional law, water law, property rights, public lands law, torts, environmental law and legal philosophy.
