December Graduate Celebration
Sunday, December 14, 1 p.m., 2008
Evans Auditorium-Graduation Ceremony
Reception following in Tempelton Campus Center, Stamm Dining Hall

In mid-October, December graduates and their families will receive an invitation to the December Graduate Celebration on Sunday, December 14, at which time we recognize seniors who are graduating mid-year.

We will gather in Evans Auditorium at 1 p.m. for the formal portion of the program. Each graduate will be seated on stage and invited forward to be congratulated by Dean Julio de Paula and President Tom Hochstettler, and to receive a diploma cover with congratulatory message from faculty. A professional photographer will be taking photos.

To honor all graduates, we request semi-formal attire for this event. Caps and gowns are worn only at Commencement. Evans Auditorium and Stamm Dining Hall will be similarly “dressed” for the occasion. Following the formal recognition, Frank Manor will be open for graduates and families to take pictures, visit, and enjoy the festivities. Complimentary refreshments will be available in Templeton Campus Center, Stamm.

Commencement for the College of Arts & Sciences is held each spring, and all seniors who complete degree requirements from December 2008 through August 2009 are invited to participate in Commencement Weekend activities, Friday-Sunday, May 8-10, 2009. Formal conferral of degree for all members of the Class of 2009 occurs on May 10, 2009 at the Commencement Ceremony.

Because mid-year graduates may not be planning to participate in the spring Commencement exercises, we recognize and honor these graduates at this gathering each December. You are welcome to attend both the December event and all spring Commencement activities.

To assist in our planning, RSVP by December 4 to Terri Banasek, Executive Assistant, Office of the Dean, by letter, phone (503-768-7198), or email (banasek@lclark.edu)
