1. ANALYSIS:

o Does the speech reveal an explicit and reasonable central theme?

o Is there evidence of critical thinking?

o Is the approach fresh and challenging?

2. ORGANIZATION:

o Does the speech follow a clear pattern of organization?

o Are transitions clear?

3. USE OF LANGUAGE:

o Is the language vivid, interesting, and appropriate?

o Is the language meaningful and free from ambiguity and vagueness?


4. DELIVERY:

o Is the verbal delivery appropriate?

o Is the nonverbal delivery appropriate?

o Is pronunciation and articulation evident?

5. LINK TO AUDIENCE:

o Does speech engage audience? (Seniors, family, friends, faculty)

o Does the speech sustain positive interest, feeling and/or commitment among the audience?

6. OVERALL EVALUATION:
