Alain Silk
Adjunct Faculty, Biology
After completing his undergraduate degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, Alain Silk fled the cold weather to San Diego, where he obtained his Ph.D. studying cancer cell biology at UCSD. His work there focused on understanding mechanisms of chromosome segregation during cell division. When not in the lab, he spent his time exploring California and the southwest deserts. He is currently devoting his time to teaching as an adjunct professor in the department of biology, and lives in southeast Portland with his wife-to-be and two cats.
