SAAB Tutoring
Manual Fall 2009
Welcome back to another year of helping your peers and professors. You have been selected to be a tutor for the fall semester. There are a couple of procedures and policies that you will find in this packet to help you become better acquainted with what is expected of you. I am confident all of you will do your best to help students at Lewis & Clark succeed in the classroom.
Good Luck,

The Basics of How Things are Run
Tutees come to the SAAB Office or SAAB Tutoring Board in search of help. Posted online is a list of all the tutors in each of the departments. Tutees are expected to contact the tutors by e-mail to set up a meeting time. This allows for the flexibility of both the tutee and the tutorŐs busy schedules. Tutors: you are expected to respond to tutoring requests in a timely manner.
Consider the library when arranging a time and place to meet. It is the best environment conducive to serious studying and is easily accessible to all.
At each tutoring session, be sure that to complete all parts of the Tutoring Log and do not forget the tuteeŐs signature!

When you bring your forms to Student Financial Services bring either a) a valid passport or b) a valid driverŐs license AND Social Security Card or notarized Birth Certificate. Timecards:
1. Go to the WebAdvisor Home Page at https://webadvisor.lclark.edu
(use your e-mail login and password to gain access). Click on the Students tab.
2. Click on Time Entry under
the Time Entry and Approval Menu. Make sure you select the correct position
that you are reporting hours (if you're employed by more than one office
on-campus). You only need to complete the Hours Worked column.
3. You are strongly encouraged
to enter your time worked on a daily or weekly basis. You can save your entry
by clicking the submit button (your hours will only be submitted for approval
once you click the electronic signature box and click on submit).
4. You will need to submit
your time sheet for approval a minimum of two days before the due date each
month. If time sheets are due on the 30th, you'll need to make sure you've
submitted your time sheet by the 28th. Your hours must also be verified by the
Tutoring Director with your tutoring logs (see below). You need to check
the electronic signature box at the bottom of the page and click the submit
button in order to submit your hours for approval).
5.
Direct Deposit is highly recommended. You can find the form for doing
so at Student Financial Services. If you choose to not have direct deposit, you
will be able to pick up your paycheck on the 10th of every month at
the CashierŐs Office in the basement of Templeton.
Tutoring
Logs
Tutoring
Logs are found on the SAAB website. Please print off your Tutoring Log for each
month and make sure your tutee signs it at every meeting. If you do not turn in
a Tutoring Log or it is inaccurate, you will not be paid for your hours.
Due
Dates
Timecards
and Tutoring Logs are due mid-month.
You will receive an email from the Tutoring Director specifying monthly
deadlines. Again: If you do not include your Tutoring Log,
your Time Card will not be approved and you will not be paid. Late Time Cards will NOT be accepted
unless prearranged with the Tutoring Director. You can turn in your Tutoring Logs to the Tutoring Director
or place them in the folder outside the SAAB office door. The Tutoring Director will then check
your Tutoring Log and approve your Timecard.
