Inaugural Lecture
Arthur O'Sullivan, Dr. Robert B. Pamplin, Jr. Professor of Economics

Dr. Arthur O'Sullivan earned his B. S. in Economics with honors from the University of Oregon in 1975 and his Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University in 1981. He taught at the University of California-Davis from 1981-1992, earning the Outstanding Teacher Award in the Graduate School of Management on three separate occasions. He joined the Oregon State University faculty in 1992, earned the rank of Professor in 1996, and chaired the University Graduate Faculty of Economics for four years. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate, his research interests include applied economics and public policy issues. His books include Urban Economics, The Property Tax Revolt: The Legacy of Proposition 13, and Economics: Principles and Tools. Dr. O'Sullivan joined the Lewis & Clark College faculty in Fall, 2001 and teaches Inventing America, Urban Economics, Principles of Economics, and Microeconomics.
