Reverend Donald Frazier, Genesis Community Fellowship Church

Reverend Frazier, father of Lewis & Clark alumna, Velynn Frazier, has spoken previously at the College for MLK and baccalaureate programs.

Workshops (faculty, staff, and student facilitators). One hour break-out sessions begin at 2: 45 p.m. and continue at 3:30 p.m., locations provided at convocation.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day activites continue from 2:45 pm to 3:30 pm with smaller breakout sessions where participants will have an opportunity to reflect upon and discuss stereotyping and discrimination with the help of faculty, staff, and student facilitators.

Participants will also choose from among the following topical sessions during the 3:45 to 4:30 time: Civil Rights; Cross-Cultural Communication; Anti-War Activitism; Workers Rights as Human Rights; Non-Violence and Conscientious Objection; Talk-Back session with the Keynote Speaker; Race Monologues; It was Just a Joke: Cross-Cultural Appropriation; MLK, Jr. and Ralph Ellison: Remember the Principle.

Celebration Service, 7 p.m., Agnes Flanagan Chapel

The MLK Celebration program will include singing by New Beginnings Church Choir led by Reverend Julia Newfield, a dance performance by The Gents, and a Candlelight Vigil.
