From concert halls in London, New York, Frankfurt and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., classical guitarist, Scott Kritzer will perform works from his compact disc Romance for Guitar. Please join us for this CD release concert featuring works by Turina, Villa-Lobos, de Falla, Tarrega and others.

Romance for Guitar features many of the popular works that bring the aficionado to the instrument. “These are some of my first loves; works that brought me to the instrument.” Kritzer states. Some of these pieces were works he honed while studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In fact, the sojourn of this project brought him back to one of his main teachers, Michael Lorimer. “I felt it important to reconnect not only with these works but with one of the greatest influences on my career.” Michael invited Kritzer back to his studio in New York and the two resumed the intense work that resembled those early days. “It was fantastic – he brought me back to some very important principles that I had forgotten and showed me some new approaches to technique and interpretation”, Kritzer says. Three weeks after his return Kritzer began recording Romance for Guitar.

Guitarist Scott Kritzer has been actively touring for the past three decades across two continents, including performances in virtually ever major American city and critically acclaimed performances in New York's Carnegie Recital Hall, London's Wigmore Hall and Lutheran Hall in Sapporo, Japan, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Mr. Kritzer performed for the California Center for the Performing Arts in Escondido.
