Ten years ago the first chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund was founded right here at Lewis & Clark Law School. SALDF members are active in the community volunteering at local organizations, lobbying their legislators and arranging for nationally known animal advocates such as Steven Wise and Carol Adams to speak on campus. The Lewis & Clark SALDF also hosts the National Animal Law Conference each fall in cooperation with The National Center For Animal Law.

The website provides resources and information regarding animal law classes, competitions, employment opportunities, events and more.

Located at Michigan State University College of Law the Animal Legal & Historical Web Center has compiled a vast resource of over 500 full text cases, 774 U.S. statutes, and information on over 30 topics of interest in the animal law area. Articles from past issues of Animal Law are available for public reading as well.
