Faculty Council Meeting Minutes - May 17, 2007

Present: Julio de Paula, Dean of the College; Jane Hunter, Associate Dean; Cliff Bekar, Associate Professor of Economics; Dinah Dodds, Professor of German; Deborah Heath, Associate Professor of Anthropology; Elizabeth Safran, Associate Professor of Geological Sciences; Mervyn Brockett, Assistant to the President; and Terri Banasek, Executive Assistant and recorder.

Dean de Paula reviewed the agenda for prioritization. It was agreed that Faculty Council would meet for a one-day retreat in August to talk about big issues and to set the agenda for next year.

Agenda Items:

1. Faculty Council discussed terms of employment for visiting faculty.


2. Faculty Council approved handbook language regarding junior sabbaticals as drafted by Associate Dean Hunter.


3. Faculty Council discussed the position descriptions for searches in international affairs.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:35 p.m. No additional meetings are scheduled at this time.
