Tour Guide Wisdom
Advanced science students at Lewis & Clark have research opportunities that normally are limited to graduate students at most colleges and universities. Students can earn credit toward their degree program by participating in research programs with faculty members. Many students have a great deal of autonomy in their research projects, and they often train and supervise beginning students.
In the Natural Science Shop, located in the Olin science building, students and faculty build, design, and repair many different types of research equipment and scientific apparatus. These are used in class labs and for scientific research. A shop lab is taught as part of the Physics Introductory Laboratory, and a student shop is also available for use.
