2008 SAAC Dodgeball Tournament

96 Lewis & Clark students and staff came out to play in the time honored tradition of throwing balls at each other in LC’s annual Dodgeball Tournament. With the organization of SAAC, the help of the Athletics Department, the officiating of some great volunteers, the support of some die-hard fans, and of course the willingness of the players to use their bodies as targets for fast paced flying balls of rubber, the event went off without a hitch.

The 16 teams competed in a double-elimination bracketed tournament to see who would be the dodgiest. Each team of six sported matching T-shirts and, following the official dodgeball rules, went at it with gusto. After some amazing play and incredible come backs, not to mention a few hilarious hits for those who failed to duck, dip, dive, and dodge fast enough, the losers went back to their studies with a few bruises and a little less nervous energy and the winners posed victorious.

In the final standings, much to the students’ dismay, the staff team “Finari Doreman” went undefeated and claimed victory. Nipping right at their heels in 2nd place was “Mhil Pagbanua” (also battling it out in terms of creative names). The event was a great success and promises to be exciting again next year!
