Master Grad News

Dorothy Kurkinen M.A.T. ’72 retired after 15 years of teaching. She is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Castle Rock Library in Washington.

L. Catherine "Cathy" Ehlers M.A.T. ’84 is retired and living in Sisters with Ken, her husband of 42 years. She has four daughters and five grandsons and thoroughly enjoys quilting and gardening. She taught at Beaverton High School for 15 years after receiving her master’s degree in teaching. In 1993, she received the Oregon Outstanding Biology Teacher of the Year award.

Susanne Fine M.A. ’88 received a master’s degree in counseling psychology in 1988 and recently earned her doctorate in clinical psychology at Pepperdine University. She is now a faculty member of the Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing at Southern Oregon University, and practices psychotherapy at the Samaritan Counseling Center in Ashland. She has published a textbook, researched post-traumatic stress disorder, and been active in legislative issues promoting psychology. Fine frequently speaks at national conferences on neurobiology, behavioral medicine, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She specializes in the treatment of addictions, trauma, and mood disorders.

Adrienne Soot M.A.T. ’96 married Paul DeMichele II on December 22. Adrienne teaches second grade and Paul teaches fifth grade. The couple lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
