Elizabeth "Beth" Dutoit ’90 began a master’s degree program in international management at Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International management in Glendale, Arizona, in January. She is studying at the school’s campus in Archamps, France, for the summer and is looking forward to a career in international human resource management.
Robert "Bob" Harris ’90 and Glenna Culver Harris ’90 live in Lake Oswego and are celebrating their 12th year of marriage. Bob works in health market research and strategy, while Glenna keeps busy in a medical startup company. They have two daughters, Sophia, 5, and Alexa, 2.
Elizabeth Lower Lavenue ’90 tied the knot with her partner, Myra Lavenue, on October 5 and bought a home in Portland. Elizabeth works part time at Reed College as the Kaul Auditorium coordinator, while expanding her business in workshops for voice teachers.
Liane Hilling Shah ’90 was involved with CoHo Productions, a local theatre production company, in 1998. After building a theatre in northwest Portland, she began working for StageDirect as its director of administration and fulfillment. StageDirect (www.stagedirect.com) records live performances on digital video. She and her husband, Nisu Shah, live in Sellwood with their cat, Radar.
Nicole "Nikki" Wirth Bellamy ’91 is a licensed clinical social worker at a com-munity mental health agency in Portland. The agency provides crisis and hospital diversion services for adults with mental illness. She lives in Vancouver, Washing-ton, with her husband of four years, Brian Bellamy.
Anthony Catalan III ’91 married Sandra Merryfield on July 21, 2001. Anthony is a sales and service consultant for Trashco Services. Sandra is a financial analyst for Tektronix. They live in Portland.
Chris Ann McAyeal ’91 married Scott Harris on January 26. Chris works for the Wieden and Kennedy advertising agency, where he is currently a client finance manager. Scott is a field auditor for Datascan Technologies of Atlanta.
Cheryl Longfellow Morgen ’91 and Michael Morgen announce the birth of their first daughter, Nicole Marie, on March 4. Cheryl is an assistant professor of chemistry at Philadelphia University. Michael is an engineer at Agere Systems.
Victoria Mosley Peck ’91 and her husband, Captain Robert C. Peck Jr., of the U.S. Air Force, and daughter, Diana, welcomed baby R. Cameron Peck III on June 16, 2001.
Mary Vasatka ’91 and Allen Barret Hawley married on June 23, 2001. Mary works for AutoZone as a business analyst. Allen works at Gerber Taylor Management as the director of alternative investment research. The couple lives in Memphis, Tennessee.
Genet Erickson Adam ’92 received her master of arts degree in teaching at Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1995, then moved to Singapore. She teaches elementary expatriate students at an international school. She married Peter Adam in June 2001 and now has 10-year-old twin stepdaughters.
Lewis Barlow ’92 is living in Las Vegas and working as a consultant with a management training company. He is helping to organize a reunion for alumni who participated in the 1982 overseas study program in China.
Jonathon Gourlay ’92 and his wife, Rosalyn Rodriquez, welcomed their daughter, Marianna Jellies Gourlay, into the world. Jonathon is the chair of the English department at the College of Micronesia on the island of Pohnpei in the mid-Pacific. "Jelly" has a stepsister and an adopted brother.
Danya HaKim ’92 spent a year at a Gandhian Ashram in Bali after graduation. She earned a master’s degree in regional planning and is now working for the Asian Development Bank as a gender and development specialist in Indonesia.
Donna Peterson ’92 was promoted to director of outbound marketing for the Instruments Business Unit at Tektronix. Peterson joined the company in 1999 as the worldwide business development manager for the Instruments Business Unit. Prior to joining Tektronix, she worked for KVO Public Relations in Portland.
Andrew "Andy" Potter ’92 and Maile Fuller ’90 married in August of 1992. They live in Portland with their son, Austen, 5. Andy is the IT unit manager for the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. Maile works as a product specialist with Cerner.
Beth Anne Pratt ’92 will soon receive her Ph.D. in anthropology. She spent two and a half years in Tanzania doing ethnographic research. She and husband Simon then moved to Uganda, where Simon worked as a fisheries specialist. In July 2001, they moved to Nairobi, Kenya, and in October 2001, Beth Anne gave birth to daughter Juliane.
Jason Stanford ’92 was featured as a rising star in politics in the periodical Campaigns and Elections. He is the president of Stanford Research, an opposition research firm based in Austin, Texas. His clients have included U.S. Representatives Brad Carson of Oklahoma, Bob Clement of Tennessee, Charlie Gonzalez of Texas, Joe Hoeffel of Pennsylvania, Ken Lucas of Kentucky, and Ronnie Shows of Mississippi.
Andrew "Drew" Williams ’92 joined the U.S. Army in 1993. He served in the infantry at Fort Lewis in Washington, then at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, guarding Cuban and Panamanian prisoners and psychiatric patients. Later, Williams worked for Microsoft and the Kent School District in Washington. He married Emma Jane Williams, with whom he has two children: Seth Andrew and Emma Jane. He also has a stepson named Nick. The family now lives in Wausau, Wisconsin, where Drew manages Wausau-Mosinee Paper Company.
Laurie Munro Bird ’93 married Frank Bird on October 20. Laurie is a professional nanny, and Frank owns Private Property Management Services. The couple lives in Portland.
Erin Feldman Duffell ’93 moved to San Francisco after graduation and earned her master’s degree in nursing from San Francisco State University. She married John Duffell in 1997 and now has two children, Willow and Ian. The family lives outside Paris.
John "Jay" Friends ’93 is finishing his first semester in the physical therapy doctoral program at the University of Puget Sound. His wife, Sherron Stonecypher, is director of campus events at Lewis & Clark.
Dana Hardy ’93 received an Iowa Arts Fellowship. She is pursuing an M.F.A. in acting at the University of Iowa and plans to pursue an acting career in New York.
Bradley Kennedy ’93 and Rebecca Irwin Kennedy ’94 announce the birth of their first child, Joseph Gardner Kennedy, on April 22, 2001.
Shannon Layton Van Horn ’93, M.A.T. ’98 married her best friend, Bret, in 1996. She received her M.S. degree in school psychology from Lewis & Clark’s Graduate School of Education. They announce the birth of their first child, Dylan John, in June 2001. Shannon now works part time in an elementary school.
Erin Boberg ’94 is the assistant curator of performing arts at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art.
Jeffery Hensley ’94 lives in Japan with his wife, Mutsuko, and daughter, Emily. He is working as the international business development manager at Kyoto Research Park, the largest business incubation park in Japan.
Jason Kaneshiro ’94 and Tanja Gerber Kaneshiro ’95 were married on December 22, 2001. Jason works as a senior content specialist at Softbook Press in Redwood City, California. Tanja recently received her B.A. in art from Portland State university. The couple plans to move to the San Francisco Bay area.
Joni Reese ’94 is working as a botanist with the U.S. Forest Service and is applying for graduate programs in conservation biology.
Steven Zwerin ’94 married Minda Martin on July 8, 2001. They reside in Seattle, where Steven and his business partner own and operate their own law firm, Arcala & Zwerin.
Robert Blunt ’95 lives with Danielle Walters ’95 in Chicago. He is a Ph.D. student in cultural anthropology at the University of Chicago, specializing in religion and modernity in Kenya. Danielle received her master’s degree in public health from the University of California at Berkeley, and now works as a service coordinator for residents in Chicago public housing.
Alissa Edwards Fencsik ’95 and David Fencsik ’96 became the parents of Maya Grace Fencsik on March 2, 2001. Alissa works for Borders Group, and David is working toward his Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Michigan. The couple has been married since 1997.
Christine Kerlin ’95 taught in Philadelphia and Baltimore for five years after finishing her master’s degree in education at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997.
Tammy "Jo" Becker ’96 enjoyed attending the March alumni gathering at the Oregon Ballet Theatre’s "James Canfield Signatures" in Portland’s Keller auditorium. She hopes to see more alumni at similar events in the future.
Fiona Parrott ’96 is enjoying her doctoral studies in Glasgow, Scotland.
John "Johnny" Cochran IV ’97 graduated with a degree in law from Willamette university in 2001.
Ryan Donahue ’97 restored an old house in southeast Portland with Colby Jurgenson ’97 after graduating from Lewis & Clark. Donahue lives in San Francisco and works in product design for a financial services company in Palo Alto, California. He spends his free time surfing, snowboarding, and playing guitar.
Darren Drabek ’97 married Kirstin O’Rielly on July 6, 2001. Darren is assistant director of admissions at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, where Kristin works as senior assistant director of alumni affairs.
Ourania "Nia" Garnakelis ’97 is an English instructor for international companies in France, where she has been living for the last five years.
Tia Henderson ’97 is working for Metro, the Portland-area regional government, on waste reduction and education issues. She plans to enter Portland State university’s master’s degree program in teaching science.
Noah Lesser ’97 is living on the north shore of Maui and enjoying life. He teaches scuba diving and plays Ultimate Frisbee.
Jesse Moon Longhurst ’97 is teaching high school English, theatre, and history. She married in June 2001 and lives in Ashland, where she and her husband are remodeling their home.
Loren Lunsford ’97 graduated from the University of San Diego with a master’s degree in international law. In 2002, he earned a juris doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia. A Navy veteran, Lunsford served six years in the nuclear power program.
Debbie McInturff ’97 and Andrew Reed married on August 11, 2001. Debbie works as a medical technologist for Providence Health Systems in Portland. Andrew is a park ranger at Fort Vancouver National Historic Reserve.
JoAnne Tennet Strandberg ’97 married Lars Strandberg, a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps. They live in Jacksonville, North Carolina. JoAnne runs the help desk and computer labs at the city’s community college and teaches introductory computer classes at night.
Dhruv Dayal ’98 worked at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center as a research assistant in the Oregon Medical Laser Center, where he conducted biomaterials research for the U.S. Army. He is now enrolled in a master’s degree program in biomedical engineering at Northwestern University in Chicago. He plans to stay at Northwestern to pursue a Ph.D. Dayal’s research is in the field of self-assembling nano-materials (including degradable polymers) and their applications as vehicles for drug delivery, and fabrication of tissue engineering scaffolds.
Linsel Greene ’98 is working for the nonprofit Association for Portland Progress.
Laura Provinzino ’98 is in her second year at Yale Law School, where she is involved with the Yale Law Women; the Yale Journal of International Law; intramural soccer; and Linkages, a prison legal program. During the summer, she is working for Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, a progressive, plaintiff-side law firm in Minneapolis.
Luisa Quiñoy ’98 lived in France for a year after graduation and then visited Spain. She now lives in Portland, where she works for an exporting management company as its international sales manager for Asia and Central and South America.
Jennifer Rensch ’98 married Rafael Rodriguez on July 28, 2001. Jennifer is a registered nurse at Oregon Health & Science University. Rafael is a manager at E-San Thai Cuisine. The couple lives in Beaverton.
Travis Southworth-Neumeyer ’98 is in southern Africa, where he has spent the last two years teaching biology and agriculture in dry Namibia with the Peace Corps. He plans to return to Oregon in the spring and spend time among the fir trees.
Nadine Wolff ’98 finished her master’s degree in mathematics at Portland State University. She plans to move to Canada to finish her Ph.D. in biomathematics/ genetics at the University of British Columbia.

Megan Retherford Murillo ’99 married last summer. She and her husband live in Colorado, where she works as an assistant portrait photographer. She is in the process of starting her own photography business.
Christopher "Chris" Schulze ’99 is living in Pendleton after teaching English in Germany for a year. He is now a substitute teacher and also teaches GED classes at the county jail. He will soon begin an M.A.T. program at Eastern Oregon University.
Adam Sommers ’99 married Teresa Brace on August 1, 2001. Teresa is a seventh-grade teacher at St. Helens Middle School, and Adam is a controller for Hutton International.
Carlyn Whitehouse ’99 left her job at a wine brokerage in France in 2001 and has been living in Tuscany.
