1960s

Nicholas Lewis ’61 joined Prezant Associates Inc. as chief operating officer of the 45-person industrial hygiene and safety firm. He has more than 36 years of management experience, including stints as chair of the Washington State Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council and as assistant director of the state’s Office of Management and Budget.

Judy Smith Huddleston ’63 has retired from teaching with the Portland Public School District. She is an avid quilter.

Donna Arbogast ’65 married Larry Aydon Hazel in August 1997. Both are employed at Security Chain Co. in Clackamas. Arbogast is sales manager for special accounts and Hazel is vice president of the company. They reside on their farm near Oregon City.

Terry Faw ’65 and his wife, Dinah, have developed a farm near Rainier. They grow and sell blueberries and lingonberries on the fresh market. Faw continues to do some consulting in organizational and career development.

Michael Kohlhoff ’66 assumed the office of vice president of the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) as of Jan. 1. He will serve two years in the position on the organization’s 15-member board of directors. Kohlhoff was first elected to the board as a director-at-large in 1995 and coordinated the development and adoption of the USTA’s first five-year strategic plan. He is former president of the USTA/Pacific Northwest Section and has served as chairman of the Constitution and Rules Committee and Sectional Delegates Assembly. He also served as a vice chairman of the Sectional Presidents committees and was a member of the Olympic Committee.

Byron Prinzmetal ’66 retired in 1998. He was a vice president at a software company responsible for information technology and strategic planning. Prinzmetal spends his days hiking, snowshoeing and rock climbing in southern California. He and his wife, Sally, a teacher, have been married for 29 years. They are building a home in Estes Park, Colo., where they will spend their summers.

Mark Thomas ’66 has joined Emerick Construction of Portland as project engineer. He is assigned to the Milwaukie High School project, an $8.4-million project that includes remodeling the main academic building, adding a practice gymnasium and redoing the locker room.

Bruce Aumack ’67 manages more than 50 people who are responsible for delivering education to IBM employees west of the Mississippi River. His staff works in Texas, Minnesota, Oregon, California and Arizona. Aumack was appointed by former Governor George Bush to be one of 12 members of the Texas Skills Standards Board.

Richard (Dick) DeBernardis ’67 retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1994. He is enjoying recreation and adventure in Gallatin Gateway, Mont.

Herb Lee ’67 has retired after working eight years on Kauai, in the Hawaiian Islands. He owns and recently developed a vacation rental, which can be seen online at www.hideawaycove.com.

Jacqueline Simpson Richey ’68 is director of finance and administration at the Oregon Natural Resources Council in Portland.
