Clean Water Act*

Description:

This course uses the Clean Water Act as the basis for a detailed consideration of a "command and control" regulatory program. Similarities and differences with the Clean Air Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act are noted along the way. Additionally, this course provides detailed consideration of the various types of regulatory enforcement, including civil actions, administrative and criminal enforcement, and citizen suits.

Lewis & Clark expects students to attend classes regularly and to prepare for classes conscientiously. Specific attendance requirements may vary from course to course. Any attendance guidelines for a given class must be provided to students in a syllabus or other written document at the start of the semester. Sanctions (e.g., required withdrawal from the course, grade adjustment, and/or a failing grade) will be imposed for poor attendance.
