School of Law Law School Registrar Course Schedule Clean Air Act Seminar

Clean Air Act Seminar*

Description:

In this seminar we will study key portions of the Clean Air Act with an emphasis on the practical application of the statute and implementing regulations. The class will also examine the law affecting greenhouse gas regulations as that develops during the course of the semester.

Although the course will touch on significant court decisions, the major focus will be on the way that EPA has translated the statute into rules and the way in which that translation has changed

over time. Each class will involve some lecture and discussion time as well as a segment where we work through practical issues related to the portion of the Clean Air Act under review.

Attendance is mandatory and students will be graded based on weekly assignments and classroom participation.

The American Bar Association accreditation standards require students to regularly attend the courses in which they are registered. Lewis & Clark expects students to attend classes regularly and to prepare for classes conscientiously. Specific attendance requirements may vary from course to course. Any attendance guidelines for a given class must be provided to students in a syllabus or other written document at the start of the semester. Sanctions (e.g., required withdrawal from the course, grade adjustment, and/or a failing grade) will be imposed for poor attendance.

*Offered every other year
