Mediation and Negotiation Skills Seminar*

Description:

This seminar concentrates on skill building for resolving disputes through negotiation and mediation with individual direction and group interaction. Enactments of such negotiations as basic prisoner's dilemma-type negotiations, employment contract in which the clients are present and represented by attorneys, or real estate transactions in which only attorneys are present are explored. Students are expected to participate in eight dispute resolution exercises, four of which focus on mediation as both mediator and mediatee. There is no paper; however, an exam is given.
