Professional Wellness Coaching

ease wellnessWellness coaching pairs you with a professional health coach for an immediate, solution-focused, preventive health consultation by telephone. The coach is a degreed experienced health professional. Coaches provide answers to your general wellness questions, develop an action plan with you, provide on-going preventive health and complimentary care coaching and education, provide educational materials, and assist in locating appropriate health resources in the following areas:

Weight management, smoking cessation, fitness and exercise, pre and post-natal care, menopause, chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and back pain) and complimentary care (chiropractic, yoga, acupuncture, massage)

Health Risk Assessment

EASE Advantage: Live Well is an interactive Web site designed to help you get the personalized information you need to start making improvements to your health. Get started now by taking the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) to identify the behaviors that increase your risk for accident or illness and get immediate suggestions for improvement. Getting Active

Whidbey Island Yoga & Relaxation Retreat

yoga Contentment comes from neither doing nor having, but from being.

Join us at the Yoga Lodge on Whidbey Island, a beautiful oasis in the midst of a gentle, natural setting. Five yoga classes will be offered with plenty of time for relaxing, reading, walking, hiking and exploring. Sauna available. Delicious vegetarian meals.

Instructors

Ryan Crosby MSW, RYT, has taught yoga for 12 years to people of all ages, in a variety of settings. She brings a rich and varied background to her teaching, which is evident in her gentle yet energizing classes. She studied in India with the Himalayan Institute and is a certified Yoga Teacher registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT500).

Colleen Bermudes LMT, works as a massage therapist in a clinical setting. She has studied both Eastern and Western modalities including Thai Yoga, Shiatsu and Swedish massage. Her personal yoga practice over the last 14 years greatly informs her massage work. She enjoys cycling, swimming and hiking and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter.

Schedule

Retreat begins on Friday at 5pm with a yoga class followed by dinner, and concludes after morning yoga class and brunch on Sunday. Check in is 3pm on Friday. Appropriate for anyone with a year of yoga experience.

Cost

Includes two nights lodging and taxes, yoga instruction, vegetarian meals and use of sauna.

$355 per person, shared lodging (three or four to a room)

$340 per person, tent camping, $225 for camper not participating in yoga

Registration

Space limited to 16 participants.

Reserve by April 1 and save $15 per person.
A $75 deposit reserves space, payment in full due by July 23.
A $35 fee is assessed for cancellations prior to July 23.
No refunds after July 24, 2009 unless space is filled.

Wellness Fair

Wellness SafariThe Wellness Fair was held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in the Templeton Student Center. The theme was "Safari Wellness Fair" to encourage our employees to "Go Wild Over Health!".

This event was well attended by over 200 Faculty and Staff members who received over $8,000 worth of goodies, screenings, samples and prizes!
