Another Victory at the National Animal Advocacy Appellate Moot Court Competition
For the second year in a row, Lewis & Clark won the National Center for Animal Law's National Animal Advocacy Appellate Moot Court Competition at Harvard Law School.
The team of Lauren Goldberg and Erin Smith earned the championship from a field of 17 teams, and Erin Smith was awarded the prize as the best oralist of the competition. Lewis & Clark students Neal Clark and Zachary Norris also did well and just barely missed qualifying for the semi-finals.
Lewis & Clark student Alexis Fox reached the finals in the companion Harvard animal law contest, the Closing Argument Competition.
Pacific Environmental Advocacy Center Clinical Professor Allison LaPlante served as the lead coach for the animal law moot court teams. The teams also benefited greatly from the input of the many other faculty members and alumni who judged practice rounds.
