The People
Faculty and staff
Faculty and staff interest in environmental and natural resources law runs deep. Beyond their excellent academic credentials, the faculty and staff have substantial experience in a variety of environmental practices - government, private firm, and non-profit - which adds depth and creative energy to their teaching and scholarship.
Scholars
Campus life is also enriched by the presence of environmental visitors. Each year, a Natural Resources Law Institute Distinguished Environmental Visitor, drawn from the scholarly luminaries of the field, visits campus to share his or her area of expertise with Lewis & Clark law students. Lewis & Clark also annually funds a resident Distinguished Environmental Scholar who researches a cutting-edge issue and serves as a resource for students. The law school also welcomes environmental law professors from other countries as Visiting International Scholars to research U.S. environmental law. Students
Students of diverse backgrounds come here from all over the United States and the world, united in the desire to learn environmental and natural resources law. As a result, Lewis & Clark features more active, engaged student environmental law groups, with a variety of perspectives, than any other law campus in the nation. Alumni
Our graduates have gone on to distinguish themselves in all areas and sectors of environmental and natural resources law. More than 1,200 alumni practice in the field in the United States and abroad. These successful grads provide an excellent contact base for law students when they are thinking about summer or permanent jobs.
