Leadership in Action

A New Initial Administrator Program Is Coming Your Way

The Initial Administrator Licensing (IAL) Program is designed to meet the learning and leadership needs of aspiring leaders. The curriculum is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary for students to become successful school or program administrators. The focus on best practices in teaching, learning, and leadership helps candidates anticipate future trends and needs. Classes emphasize a balance between theory and practice and draw on the experiences of students in the program to expand the richness of the content.

This program is practitioner-based, seminar focused and student centered. Students enthusiastically commend our program's flexibility, small class size and numerous opportunities to field test concepts taught in class.

The IAL Program is an 18 semester hour, two year course of study, including a full year practicum. The new cohort starts summer semester 2009 and concludes early summer semester 2011.
