Was That the Governor?

More than 500 law school graduates and friends came to hear Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski at Alumni Day in April.

“Lawyers, by nature, are not people who stand on the sidelines,” Kulongoski told the crowd. “Advocacy is your stock in trade. I need you to be advocates for the state. Because as much as we need more revenue and economic activity, we need more voices of hope. You can do that.”

Kulongoski addressed the future of Oregon schools and the long- and short-term effects of the new four-day workweek at the Multnomah County Court House. He encouraged the law school community to help him address critical issues, including business development, social policies, transportation, and challenging budget decisions.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors and representatives of the Business Law Program hosted the luncheon at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Portland.
