Alumni Weekend 2007
Alumni Show Their ColorsNearly 600 alumni, friends, and family visited campus in mid-October to celebrate Alumni Weekend 2007.
A new addition to the festivities was the Black and Orange Grand Reception. Alumni from all class years donned the school colors and listened to President Tom Hochstettler's state of the college address. Afterward, alumni, current students, and other members of the Lewis & Clark community headed to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry for a family-friendly event that featured lively conversation, good food, and dancing.

Shahzeb Jillani B.S. '94, outstanding young alumnus, is radio editor of BBC Urdu, where he manages a team of reporters who bring news to more than 13 million people in Pakistan, India, the Middle East, and North America.

David LaFrance B.S. '86, Pioneer Alumni Leadership Award recipient, served as president of the Board of Alumni from 2005 to 2007. He has played a key role in refining the board's direction and purpose and increasing membership among young alumni.
Other activities included the Sports Hall of Fame dinner; Alumni College; milestone reunion events for the classes of 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, and 2002; affinity reunions for the 1952 Rally Squad, the 1968 Yugoslavia study program; the 1977 track team; and the 1982 Indonesia study program.
"I was thrilled with the response," says Stephen LeBoutillier B.A. '00, associate director of alumni and parent programs. "The new events attracted and engaged a diverse group of alumni. I look forward to working with volunteers on Alumni Weekend 2008!"
