Manor House s06Celebrate Alumni Weekend, October 5-8

Coming back to the College for Alumni Weekend breathes new life into old memories. Start making plans to attend this year's celebration, slated for October 5–8.

Highlights include:

  • Milestone reunions for class years that end in 1 and 6: 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, and 2001. Receptions and dinners are planned for each class.
  • The Alumni Honors Banquet pays tribute to the accomplishments of four outstanding alumni. This year's honorees are J. Jaiya John '89, Sagala Ratnayaka '93, G. Ray Warren '65, M.A.T. '71 (posthumous award), and Kimberly Hansink '86. Read more.
  • This year's Alumni College lectures cover topics ranging from understanding human consciousness to managing money in the marketplace. Presenters are Bob Mandel, professor and department chair of international affairs; Rebecca Copenhaver, assistant professor of philosophy; Eleonora Beck, professor of music; John Bates, adjunct professor of finance and chair of the Board of Trustees; Greta Binford, assistant professor of biology; and Cyrus Partovi '67, senior lecturer in social sciences.
  • Enjoy an evening of jazz with the Dan Balmer Trio. Balmer '80, hailed as the finest jazz guitarist in Oregon, blends contemporary and traditional jazz styles, juxtaposed with influences ranging from pop to Brazilian music.
  • The fourth annual Tailgate Extravaganza is a family-friendly event with food grilled to order and beer provided by a local brewery. Then catch the Homecoming football game, in which the Pioneers face off against Northwest Conference opponent Menlo College.
  • A brunch with the Board of Alumni gives all alumni a chance to meet and share ideas for future outreach efforts.
