About the Cover
Lewis & Clark faculty pursue situated research in the Columbia Slough, located in north Portland. The slough is home to a variety of species, including this painted turtle (Chrysemys picta), which is on Oregon’s sensitive species list.
Midsummer on the Fall Stage
In November, the theatre department presented Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream on the Main Stage. Here Titania (Sydney McClune CAS '08) and Oberon (Matt Poole CAS '08) watch the fairy dance that concludes the play. The fairies were played by Alex Ramirez CAS '10, Sylvia Walter-Caldera CAS '10, Enid Moore CAS '10, Flynn De Bona CAS '10, Erin Dees CAS '10, and Andy Schwab CAS '11. The play's director was Stephen Weeks, associate professor of theatre, and its designer was Michael Olich, associate professor of theatre. Photo by Dale Peterson
