Distinguished Intellectual Property Visitor

Each year we recognize a distinguished intellectual property professor or judge by inviting them to spend a week visiting our Law School. Our visitor is provided with an office to work in and is welcomed by our Dean, faculty, and other IP practitioners. Throughout the week our visitor interacts with students by lecturing or otherwise participating in classes and by joining students for an informal lunch. The visitor also has opportunities to enrich the intellectual life of our campus by engaging with students, faculty, and practitioners in the field. The highlight of the week is an evening lecture open to students, faculty, local practitioners, and the public.

We are pleased to announce Judge Pierre Leval as our 2009 Distinguished IP Visitor

Visitor Week: February 9-12, 2009
Public Lecture: February 10, 2009 "Did Campbell Fix Fair Use?" 6pm, Lewis & Clark Law School, Room 7 (Driving Directions & Campus Map)

Our Distinguished Intellectual Property Visitor program is now in its tenth year. This year our visitor will be Judge Pierre Leval of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In this program, we alternate between hosting an academic and a judge on our campus for a one-week visit each year.
