Stafford Honored for Contributions to Oregon's Literary Community

Like the coastline, Cascade mountains, and high desert, the Stafford name is an enduring part of the Oregon landscape. Kim Stafford, director of the Northwest Writing Institute at Lewis & Clark, was honored by Literary Arts for his work cultivating the state’s literary community.

Goodstein Takes the Plunge to Raise Awareness of Global Warming

Professor of Economics and Focus the Nation Project Director Eban Goodstein, visited the chilly banks of the Willamette River last month as part of his effort to eliminate global warming. Goodstein and friends hosted a Polar Bear Plunge to raise awareness about how polar bears and other species are threatened by global warming, which Goodstein calls a “problem that affects all life on this planet.”

Beck Named Master Teacher of Musicology

An inspiration to students and teachers alike, Professor of Music Nora Beck strives to teach more than music history. Her students learn to juxtapose language and music, music and history, and reality and imagination in an environment nourished by her expertise and passion.

Help Athletics PAC(K) Pamplin

PAC(K)Pamplin is an annual event for Pioneer teammates and alumni to catch up with each other, relive past glories, and watch the Pioneer basketball teams in action. On January 26, Pios will gather for a cocktail reception and dinner buffet in the Hall of Champions at Pamplin Sports Center.
