Student Puts Lewis & Clark in Top Five on “Green Vote” InitiativeThis fall, sophomore Rachel Young, president of the environmental organization Students Engaged in Eco-Defense, urged her peers to make clean-energy solutions a priority in their voting decisions. At the end of October, Young had gathered more than 750 signatures. Her recruitment efforts, part of a national movement to encourage students to think about clean energy, placed Lewis & Clark among the top five U.S. colleges in terms of percentage of student participation in the initiative. First-year student Louise Trueheart, a self-identified TCK, was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Toronto and Paris before she attended high school in Connecticut. In this interview, Trueheart describes her religious journey at Lewis & Clark and her opportunity last year to speak at a Paris church service attended by President Bush.
