Time Management Resources
If you weren't in college, what would you be doing?
If, like most students, you answer, "Working at least 40 hours a week," then think of college as your full-time job.
In keeping with this, Lewis & Clark instructors recommend a minimum of 2-3 hours per week of study for every hour in class. Look at the math:
12 hours in class + 24 hours studying = 36 hours/week
12 hours in class + 36 hours studying = 48 hours/week.
If this seems excessive, think back to high school. Most students spend 30-35 hours a week in classes. One would expect to spend at least as much time in college!
