Application Options
Other application information
More than 60 students transfer to Lewis & Clark from other colleges each year. Go to the transfer page to get special instructions and download the additional forms required to apply as a transfer student.
If you are an international student and would like to join approximately 150 other Lewis & Clark students from six continents and more than 50 countries, go to our International Students page, for your application instructions.
The admissions essay is turned in as part of your application. However, because we encourage you to begin writing your essay as soon as possible, we also include the instructions here.
Lewis & Clark requires the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT unless an applicant chooses to complete the Portfolio Path, in which case neither the SAT nor the ACT is required. If an applicant chooses to submit standardized test scores our policy is to take the highest critical reading score and the highest math score from all administrations of the SAT. With regard to the ACT our policy is to take the highest composite score from all test dates (we do not use subscores from different test dates to create a separate composite score). The writing portion of the SAT or ACT is not required for admission to Lewis & Clark, nor are the SAT subject tests. We encourage students to choose the option (test or Portfolio Path) which best represents their academic preparation for college. We expect testing to be completed prior to the application deadline.
Our Portfolio Path to admission is an alternative application option for students who would like to provide additional application materials in lieu of standardized testing.
If you have submitted your application and received your student ID number and PIN via snail-mail, you can check your file here.
