| About: | "A Month in the Country, After Turgenev" by Brian Friel. The play is Brian Friel's adaptation of Ivan Turgenev's play of the same title. Turgenev was one of the great writers of 19th century Russia. His play was first produced in 1872. The play is a bittersweet comedy of love and betrayal set on a rural estate, circa 1840, in which the restless, charismatic Natalya throws her family and friends into turmoil when she becomes infatuated with her son's young tutor. It is directed by professor Steven Weeks. |
