I just read my posts from first semester. It is amazing to think at one point I was a scared freshman who didn’t know what this whole college thing was about. Just reading about how I was having trouble in class or how much I wanted to go home, seems like it was so long ago.
This year has been my greatest. I won no awards, hoisted no trophies and never made the newspaper. However, more than anything, I think I have figured out a lot more about who I am. I have found courage in places I did not know existed. I have realized new abilities, and found others not to be as strong as once believed. I have found love, and lost it. Regardless, I am stepping on the plane home a better person.
I would like to thank each and every person who has read my posts. I really do try at these things. I have found it healthy to share my life with the world and encourage you all to do the same at some point. To everyone who ever wrote me a question, I would like to thank you for you interest and hope my answers assisted you in some way. And if there are any more to be asked, I will still answer.
Lewis and Clark has been the canvas upon which my future is now painted. I would recommend every one of you to stop by, take a look around and ask yourself if four challenging, fun-filled, and amazing years sounds appealing amongst the trees and birds.
I have found a home here, and believe that you all can too.
The warm skies of Alaska await my return. I return to the place that shaped me most. But my bags will be much lighter upon returning home. I will be leaving many things behind to greet me in August including a piece of my heart for all my new friends.
Goodbye America. May your dreams pull you harder than your doubts. To brighten someone else’s day brings sunlight to us all. Run to Win.
Sincerely,
Ryan C Chapman
